UTICA, N.Y. — Businesses and job seekers across a six-county region are invited to participate in a free, virtual job fair on Jan. 31 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., hosted by the Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida Counties.

The job fair is open to businesses and job seekers in Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego counties.

An Oneida Counties Regional Apprenticeship Development and Readiness (RADAR) grant is helping to fund the jobs event and resources offered to jobseekers.

“We are looking forward to using this event to provide an opportunity for those seeking employment to explore both jobs and resources available through our RADAR grant,” Project Director Sommer Edwards said in a release. “We provide free in-person and online pre-apprenticeship learning/training programs to eligible job seekers who are interested in participating in a registered apprenticeship program, which is a pathway to a good-paying career.”

More than 30 employers from various sectors have already signed up to participate in the virtual job fair. Many are hiring immediately and will have representatives on hand to talk to job seekers.
