Cancun on three, Eli?
Less than one week after trolling Stefon Diggs and other Buffalo Bills players, cornerback Eli Apple saw his season come to an end in the Cincinnati Bengals’ AFC Championship Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
At the time of Apple’s trolling, Diggs simply responded to one tweet calling Apple a clout chaser. Besides that, Diggs stayed quiet until the right opportunity presented itself. Following the Bengals’ 23-20 loss to the Chiefs, Diggs made sure to get in the last word.
On Monday morning, Diggs’ first tweet featured a video of Drake laughing. Simple, but effective when everyone knows why you’re amused.
Shortly after the video, he released two more tweets.
“The internet undefeated,” Diggs said referring to all of the backlash Apple was receiving on social media from NFL players, fans and others. He followed it up with something that Apple can perhaps learn from.
“That’s why I mind my business,” said Diggs. “And just play the creases.”
Diggs’ final message of the morning was no coincidence. He wished everyone a good day while using Damar Hamlin’s heart hands symbol.
For now, Apple has stayed silent on social media following the loss. Diggs and Apple could face-off again in 2023, if the cornerback can find a team willing to sign him.
