ILION — Three people have been displaced from their home on Elm Street in Ilion following a bedroom fire Tuesday morning, according to the Ilion Fire Department.
Deputy Fire Chief Andrew Monahan said the alarm was raised shortly before 10 a.m. after a resident came home and discovered smoke and heat inside the two-story residence at 27 Elm St. Firefighters responded and Monahan said they discovered the fire in the bedroom.
A hose line was carried inside and the chief said the flames were knocked down within about five minutes. No one was injured.
“They’ll be displaced,” Monahan said of the three adult residents.
The fire damage was contained to the bedroom and its contents, the chief stated.
